Airframe Modifications.
STC installations from a vetted network of vendors — vortex generators, gross-weight increases, custom interiors, backcountry gear, and more. Tell us what you want to change about your airplane; we'll tell you honestly what makes sense.
Mods we won't sell you on.
We do STC installs from a wide network of vetted vendors — but we won't install a mod just because it's available. If you bring us an idea, we'll tell you:
- What it actually changes about the airplane (performance, useful load, handling, fuel burn)
- What it costs to install and what the downtime is
- What it does to resale
- Whether it's worth it for your specific mission
If the answer is "not really," we'll say so.
Mods we know how to do well.
A non-exhaustive list of common STCs on our schedule. If yours isn't here, ask — chances are we've done it, or can confirm whether it's a fit for your airplane in a phone call.
Micro AeroDynamics VG Kits
Spanwise vortex generators that lower stall speed by ~9%, sharpen low-speed control, and shorten takeoff/landing distance. ~75 STCs across ~750 aircraft models — including Beechcraft Bonanza/Baron/King Air, Diamond DA42, and most Cessna + Piper piston singles and twins.
microaero.com →BLR Aerospace Gross-Weight VG Kit
86 vortex generators plus 4 nacelle strakes that lower Vmc enough to FAA-approve a gross-weight increase — meaningful payload back on the books for Chieftain operators. Also approved on Beech Duke and other twins.
blraerospace.com →ARC Inboard Gear Door Removal
STC SA00555DE removes the troublesome inboard main-gear doors and replaces them with a fixed aerodynamic fairing. Raises gear-extension speed to 153 KIAS, eliminates the recurring gear-door hinge AD, and ends in-flight door-sag worries — no cruise-speed penalty.
arcmods.com →Selkirk Aviation Interiors
Fiberglass interior panels, headliners, glareshields, extended baggage kits, and composite cowlings — replaces brittle OEM plastic with lightweight, durable parts. PMA + STC approved. Based in Coeur d'Alene, ID.
selkirk-aviation.com →LakeVue Aeronautics Folding Seats
STC'd folding jump seats — 5.5 lb each vs. ~29 lb for the OEM bench. Stow flat against the fuselage to free up cargo space; remove with two bolts. Originally the BAS folding seat design, in continuous production since 1979.
lakevueaeronautics.com →Airglas Heavy-Duty Nose Fork
Wider, stronger nose fork that clears tires up to 8.50×6 for backcountry and off-airport ops. STC SA02069AK (AML). Adds real backcountry capability to a tri-gear Cessna.
airglas.com →Alaskan Bushwheel Tires + Tailwheel
Low-pressure 26–35" main tires plus the Baby Bushwheel tailwheel for gravel, sand, tundra, and river-bar operations. STC-approved across most popular taildraggers in the backcountry mission.
mcfarlanealaska.com →McFarlane Alaska Tailspring Assembly
STC'd Skywagon tailspring with an increased arch that reduces tailwheel shimmy — cleaner ground handling and longer life for backcountry-flown 180s and 185s. Complete kit, less the tailwheel itself.
mcfarlanealaska.com →D'Shannon Aviation Mods
Tip tanks, gross-weight increases, baffles, cowling mods, and other Bonanza/Baron-specific upgrades. Long-standing relationship — we do D'Shannon installs to factory spec with full STC paperwork.
dshannon-aviation.com →Texas Skyways Engine Upgrades
STC'd higher-horsepower engine conversions for the Cessna line — shorter takeoff rolls and faster climb without airframe modifications. Engines, propellers, and supporting components engineered as a system. Based in Boerne, TX.
txskyways.com →RAM Aircraft Engine Overhauls + STCs
Continental 520 / 550 family engine overhauls to new-parts limits, balanced to RAM STC specs, plus performance upgrades for the twin Cessnas, Beech piston twins, Bonanza, and SR22. Backed by RAM's Legendary Engine warranty. Waco, TX since 1976.
